About SOS Children’s Villages Florida:

SOS Children’s Villages serves children and families from Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Our Village offers a safe and supportive environment for up to 78 children in 13 single-family homes with full-time foster parents, in a residential neighborhood in Coconut Creek, Florida. Often the children referred to SOS arrive with the need to be rehabilitated mentally, emotionally, behaviorally, and academically.  Many children in foster care have experienced traumatic events like physical/sexual abuse, abandonment, neglect, food insecurity, homelessness, and exposure to domestic and community violence, which left unaddressed, often leads to a life of continued abuse, drug use, unemployment, unwanted pregnancies, sex work, and imprisonment. Our goal through the work we do, is to ensure that each child and young adult is celebrated and given the opportunity to explore their interests and thrive in their lives ahead.

SOS Next Steps program provides services to young adults in the community who have aged out of foster care at 18.  This is our largest growing program with 165 young adults who receive support in the areas of affordable housing, financial management, employment and educational support, childcare, and many other services. By having access to these resources our young adults are able to explore their interests and build a life from which they can thrive.
